... On Traveling

Now there are lots of ways to perceive the idea of travel.

Sometimes we call it "taking a vacation" ~ freedom or release from duty, business, or activity.

As many of us can attest to, this can be done anywhere, anytime if even just for a moment. It does not require the physcial relocation of your body, only the conscious focus of your mind and attention.

It's leaving behind your familiar inner world (that's actually become quite uncomfortable) and being willing to risk, trust that what you will then find is goodness, truth and beauty.

It's taking a moment to breath, both literally and figuratively.

Up until three months ago I spent the better part of two years on exactly that type of trip.

While I physically moved through the motions of everyday life (very close to home) I was fully focused on an inner stillness, an inner period of rest and Freedom above all else.

And while this type of journeying is both readily available and monetarily inexpensive it is also epically unique, rarely embarked upon in achievement driven societies.

Having this time was both a blessing for myself and a real gift from many people close to me. My gratitude for the opportunity is to them and to the part of me that was wise enough to allow myself the space.

And while it was a release from duty the results of the "work" it required can be seen in the smile on my face and the Happiness that is my daily reality.

As that period has ended and another "life scenario play" emerges a different definition of travel has taken center stage.

Travel ~ to move or go from one place or point to another, to proceed or advance in any way.

And in this way, I have most certainly started traveling. (My beautiful inner Home going along wherever this new being, having and doing takes me.)

And while the results of this type of journeying will be somewhat easier to share (due to the tangible nature of outer activity and acheivement) on the pages of A Goddess in Love I want another definition of travel to become apparent.

Travel can also mean to pass, or be transmitted, as light or sound.

Here I want to pass along the light, the love from within that creates any and all outer results.

As we go along you will see ways in which all of our journeys can be captured in books, art, music, film and familial communion.

It's so exciting, I can barely sleep lately, like a kid on Christmas Eve...

PS - The photo above is from my last period of this type of travel, getting myself "lost" in the outer world. They are Mansanas de Agua or Water Apples, lovely central american fruits with a delicate constitution, a short and intensely sweet season of giving, and the bouquet or roses. (All symbols of love, youth, beauty and happiness.)
